I am pleased to welcome Northern Utilities and Granite State Gas Transmission to the Unitil System. The purchase of these companies has closed, after an extensive review and approval from the regulators in Maine, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts. Unitil is committed to providing safe, reliable, and convenient services to all our customers. We bring to this job a locally based management committed to excellence and a strong and stable financial foundation firmly rooted in the gas and electric utility distribution business. We also welcome the 81 experienced and well-qualified employees of Northern and Granite to the Unitil payroll, as well as more than 60 new employees – in jobs that we have brought back to the region with this acquisition. We are looking forward to a positive future for these companies – and for all the areas served by Unitil.
