Position Concept

Conduct periodic solicitations to procure power and natural gas supplies and transmission service to needed to provide retail electric and gas service to Unitil's distribution company customers; present supporting evidence for purchasing decisions and/or recommendations, including sponsoring testimony in regulatory settings as needed; analyze and recommend power transmission and natural gas transportation contracting options. Plan for Unitil's future energy supply obligations and propose future energy supply procurement processes. Manage supply contracts and compliance with regulatory and market requirements. Prepare energy supply and transmission cost estimates used for corporate budgets and proposed rate development. Draft and negotiate commercial and credit terms of new supply commitments. Support various data reporting functions.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in engineering, mathematics, economics, finance or related technical field; and a minimum of 8 years experience in energy trading or energy industry analysis. Knowledge of physical gas markets and NEPOOL/ISO-NE experience is preferred. Required skills: strong analytical capabilities, excellent written and verbal communication skills, good PC skills.
