Unitil Celebrates Volunteer of the Month
Hampton, NH; March 2, 1999 --- Don Palmer, a line worker at Unitil/Exeter
& Hampton Electric Company, is the first employee to receive the Unitil
Volunteer of the Month award. This is a new company program which honors
one employee every month for his/her outstanding community work.
"This is a great way to recognize and celebrate all of those unsung
heroes in our midst," said Robert Schoenberger, Unitil CEO/Chairman.
"People who work at Unitil live locally, and are active in community
volunteer events. This is our way of supporting their efforts, such as
Don’s involvement with youth organizations, and saying thank you for
all the hard work."
Palmer received a letter of commendation from Schoenberger, a gift
certicate to a local restaurant, a "Unitil Volunteer of the Month"
shirt, and a plaque. He is active in many different community
organizations, including coaching baseball and basketball with the
North Hampton Youth Association, and hockey with the Manchester Regional
Youth Hockey League. He has also assisted with such projects as the
New Hampshire Public Television Annual Auction, the YMCA Camp Lincoln
Rope Course, and stringing the holidays lights for downtown Exeter.
