January 1, 2000; Hampton, NH: Customers of Unitil/Concord Electric Company, Unitil/ Exeter & Hampton Electric Company and Unitil/Fitchburg Gas and Electric Light Company saw the New Year in without interruption to their electric or gas service.

"This Y2K ‘Non-event’ is the result of significant effort invested by Unitil employees who have been working on the Y2K issue since spring of 1998. Our hardware and software items and devices were assessed, remediated and tested, with the desired outcome – seamless gas and electric service for our customers as the year turned. I salute our employees for a job well done," said Unitil CEO, Bob Schoenberger.
