Hampton, NH – April 18, 2000: Today Unitil/Concord Electric Company (AMEX: UTL) (www.unitil.com) was recognized as a Founding Member that is still active, at the Greater Concord Chamber of Commerce’s first annual awards luncheon.

Concord Electric Company was cited for its community commitment, demonstrated by its continued low rates and focus on local economic development.

"We are honored to be part of the Concord community and thank them for this award," said Unitil President Mike Dalton. "We look forward to working with the Chamber in the next 81 years." He said, referring to the fact that the Chamber of Commerce was founded in 1919, with Concord Electric as a Charter member.

In addition to Concord Electric Company, Page Belting and Swenson Granite were also recognized as Founding members that are still active members of the Chamber.
