Unitil's 2002 Annual Report Receives National Awards

Hampton, NH. (November 18, 2003): Unitil Corporation (AMEX:UTL) (www.unitil.com) announced today that its 2002 Annual Report to Shareholders received four awards from two nation-wide annual report competitions. This is the sixth consecutive year Unitil received national recognition for its Annual Report.

The National Association of Investors Corp. (NAIC) chose Unitil's 2002 Annual Report as Best in Industry (Electric Utility East) in its 26th annual Nicholson Awards Competition. This competition evaluates the content, financial reporting and design of Annual Reports and features judges who are individual investors and NAIC members.

Unitil's 2002 Annual Report garnered 3 awards from the American Business Communicator's 11th annual competition: Second Place for "Financial Presentation," Third Place for "Photography/Illustration," and Outstanding Achievement for "Cover Design." The American Business Communicators awards judge artistic quality and clarity of message.
