Mass Save Home Energy Assessment/Home Energy Services Program
Unitil has partnered with the gas and electric utilities throughout Massachusetts to offer our customers the family of Mass Save Programs.
The Mass Save Home Energy Services Program offers a 75% rebate up to $2,000 to improve the energy efficiency of our customers’ homes through weatherization. This fuel-neutral weatherization program offers a comprehensive “whole house” assessment. The assessment is an energy and safety evaluation of the home that includes an inspection of lighting and appliances as well as performance testing of the ventilation and mechanical systems, building tightness, and insulation levels that will result in recommended energy efficiency improvements. When you participate in the Home Energy Services Program, you'll save on energy bills and enjoy a more comfortable home year round.

NHSaves is a collaboration of New Hampshire's electric and gas utilities working with the New Hampshire Public Utilities Commission and other interested parties to provide New Hampshire residents with information, programs and support designed to reduce energy use, save money and protect our environment. Energy efficiency is a vital part of keeping New Hampshire's residents and businesses economically successful and New Hampshire electric utility customers help fund these energy efficiency programs through a monthly charge, based on their use of electricity.

Products bearing the ENERGY STAR label use less energy than most other appliances and meet important quality and efficiency guidelines set by the U.S. Department of Energy. Look for the ENERGY STAR label when purchasing your next major appliance.

ENERGY STAR Lighting
Our residential ENERGY STAR lighting program works with local retailers to offer special in-store pricing on the purchase of energy-saving ENERGY STAR lighting products. A typical ENERGY STAR rated compact fluorescent bulb (known as a "CFL") lasts up to ten times longer than a standard incandescent bulb and uses 75% less energy. With improved lighting quality and easy replacement in your existing lamps and fixtures, it's never been a better time to switch to ENERGY STAR lighting products.
Residential New Construction Program
The Unitil Residential New Construction Program is designed to promote energy efficient building design and construction practices. Incentives for energy efficient new construction range from $350 to $7,000 per unit.

ENERGY STAR Homes
An ENERGY STAR rated home is substantially more energy efficient than a standard home.
Developed by the Department of Energy(DOE) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the ENERGY STAR Homes Program is a nationwide effort to make new homes more energy efficient. As a sponsor of this program, Unitil can show you how to build and certify your new home to ENERGY STAR specification and earn financial incentives.

Home Performance with ENERGY STAR
Unitil has partnered with ENERGY STAR to offer our customers the NH Home Performance with ENERGY STAR Program. This fuel neutral weatherization program offers participants a comprehensive “whole house” assessment of their home. The assessment is an energy and safety evaluation of the home that includes a visual inspection of lighting and appliances as well as performance testing of the ventilation and mechanical systems, building tightness, and insulation levels that will result in recommended energy efficiency improvements. Based on recommendations made by your auditor, you may be eligible for a 50% rebate up to $4,000 to help you pay for these improvements. To confirm your eligibility and to complete an application, click here or call us at 800-852-3339. When verifying your eligibility, you will need at least one year of heating fuel bill history and the square footage of your home.
You may qualify for an interest free loan up to $7,500 to complete the energy efficiency improvements recommended from the "whole house" assessment.

Income-Eligible Home Energy Assistance
Unitil has partnered with New Hampshire's Weatherization Assistance Network to offer our customers the Home Energy Assistance Program (HEA). This statewide program provides up to $5,000 in energy efficiency improvements to income-qualified households that may be especially vulnerable to increasing energy costs. All products and services provided by HEA are provided to qualified participants free of charge.
