United Way prides itself on collaboration and innovation – seeking to bring together the major players in a given region including companies, agencies, lawmakers, individuals – to build strong, sustainable communities by tackling the big issues facing our children, youth and families.
The world over, the United Way call to action is “give, advocate and volunteer.” Unitil shares in this belief and is proud to support the work of United Way. Employees give generously through the annual workplace campaign and Unitil staff volunteer during United Way’s Day of Caring, which gives companies the opportunity to work on much-needed projects for local non-profits.
In 2013, Unitil and United Way of the Greater Seacoast are poised to build on an already strong partnership. Together, Unitil and the United Way are crafting a relationship that can result in a significant, positive impact in the community.
Our partnership will focus on the following key areas:
- Youth Opportunities - Youth that are connected to their community will be better positioned to avoid risky decisions and graduate high school.
- Family Financial Stability - Financially stable families are the key to successful, sustainable communities.
- Healthy Child Development - The economic future of our communities depends on all children entering kindergarten ready to learn.
- Volunteerism & Giving - We all have special talents, skills we can utilize, things we can do to help. And when we reach out a hand to one, we influence the condition of all.
