Updates to Your Account
Coming September 25 - October 5, 2025*
We will be integrating Bangor Natural Gas customers into Unitil's billing and payment systems shortly. Our goal is to ensure a smooth and secure transition for all our customers.
*Dates are subject to change due to weather and other contingencies to ensure a quality transition.
What to know during the update?
Payments and other transactions will not be available during the update. Unitil will communicate with you when the update is completed and additional actions to take post-update.
What will change following the update?
- Your bills will have a different look and feel - get a preview at unitil.com/newbill
- You'll receive a new account number on your updated bill
- The online account management and payment tools you use will change
- Some phone numbers will change. No worries - all decommissioned numbers will forward calls appropriately.
Important Info Regarding Your Account & Payments
- If you need a seasonal gas turn on, please call us at 207-941-9595 as soon as possible so this can be scheduled before the system update.
- Payments scheduled through September via your Paymentus account or your financial institution will be processed, though there may be a delay to when you see the payment posted to your utility account.
- Your online Paymentus profile will not carry over to Unitil systems. Once you receive your new account number, you will be able to create a profile on Unitil’s customer portal, MyUnitil, to manage your account and make payments.
- If you were registered for paperless billing or automatic payments with Bangor Natural Gas, you will need to re-register with Unitil after the update.
- If you are currently on budget billing or a payment plan, you will receive a separate communication with details on what to expect.
No Changes Yet:
Please continue to use your current account number and bill payment methods, and be on the lookout for additional communications via direct mail, email communications, and social media. Be sure to bookmark this webpage to find the most up-to-date info and update your contact info to ensure you receive all email updates.
